Aeration is essential to maintaining a healthy grass sward, by relieving compaction, less compaction equals more oxygen & greater scope for root growth there by allowing the grass plant to develop an extensive root network able to support the plant and produce a resilient sports surface. The reduction of surface compaction will also improve surface water drainage, and reduce the risk of stress factures to players.
